Close up of Melssa's Quilt

This is a closer view of Melissa's quilt. Not the best of shots as it doesn't show all the tiny buttons and lace that was added.

Foxes, cats and flowers

A resting fox, a cat with kitten

and some primroses

Rock Painting

These mice are ones I made for my grandsons. The larger of the two was made first for my grandson Alan 18, and the smaller one for his younger brother Ryan, 14. When they were a great deal younger, both took delight in 'frightening their aunties by placing them in around the house. Of course everyone played along with them but now they are older then they were kind enough to give them back to me for safe keeping.

Doe eyes

This is my favourite, I loved doing her she looks so gentle and even though thousands of small paint strokes went into her fur I never once got bored with her. How do I know she is a she and not a he? Well she was female from the start in my eyes.

Rock Painting

These are some of the paintings I did on rocks. I purchased a book written by an American painter, her name is Lin Wellford and her work is so outstanding. I was hooked.

First attempt at machine embroidery

The idea for this quilt was taken off a stained glass painting book with some slight amendments. Although it doesn't show up too well in the photo, the embroidery element was done free hand on my trusty sewing machine.

My very first quilt

This is the very first one I made, I went to a Spotlight class and it was supposed to be a wall hanging but I thought why not make it bigger and this was the result.

Melissa's 18th Birthday Quilt

This is Melissa's quilt. It has buttons and flowers added to give it more dimension. I did all the actual quilting on the white on my small sewing machine. Learning how to do feather and swirls as I went along.

This is my first big quilt, I had a go at as many different squares I could find. The books with authors from the USA were remarkably helpful. And the Simply Quilts show inspired me to do more adventurous ones. A large quilt for my granddaughter Cherie's 21st birthday which I didn't photograph. Another for my granddaughter Melissa's 18th which I did.
